The Lancaster Bed & Breakfast

Lancaster's Historic B&B at The Gateway of Old vs New

The Lancaster Bed & Breakfast is a warm and welcoming boutique accommodation at the gateway of old versus new. Housed in a historic 1912 Dutch Colonial, steeped in local history, our central location is ideal for exploring all that both Amish Country and Lancaster City have to offer.

Located just over a mile from the vibrant city center of Lancaster ~ bustling both day and night with its amazing restaurants, breweries, distilleries, wine tasting rooms, art galleries, theaters and historic Central Market ~  while also just 5 miles from the enchanting Pennsylvania Dutch countryside and the centuries-old traditions of the Amish and Mennonite communities. We offer the perfect home base for your Lancaster adventures.

The Lancaster Bed & Breakfast is also a great place to stay for taking in a show at the many iconic Lancaster theaters, including Sight & Sound Theatre, The Fulton Theatre, American Music Theater, and Dutch Apple Theater - all within a 15 minute drive.  Nearby shopping options cater to all tastes, from antiques, charming Amish crafts, quilts and farmer's markets, to the popular Tanger Outlet Mall (10 minutes). And for the outdoor enthusiasts, hikers and cyclists can explore miles of scenic terrain on the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail or the Enola Low Grade Rail Trail, both of which provide stunning waterfront views and level paths perfect for all skill levels.

We work hard to set the highest standard of excellence and warm hospitality among the bed and breakfasts of Lancaster, PA, and look forward to sharing this beautiful home with you and welcoming you to our breakfast table.

Built in 1912, the stately Inn, boasting 7 guest rooms, has been lovingly maintained to retain its warmth and vintage sophistication.  Choose from one of the five unique rooms of the original home, or one of the two rooms in our cozy cottage.  Spend time relaxing by one of the two fireplaces, or outside, either in an adirondack chair by the goldfish pond and gardens, or porch swing on the patio.  And, of course, after a good night's sleep, breakfast is on us. Homemade, locally-sourced, gourmet and delicious!

The Lancaster B&B Blog ...

When the cold settles in and you’re looking for a place to shake off the chill, Lancaster County’s distilleries offer the perfect escape. Small-batch spirits, cozy tasting rooms, and a strong farm-to-bottle tradition make these spots inviting retreats all season long.

The holidays in Lancaster County are full of charm, but few places capture the spirit quite like Star Barn Village in Elizabethtown. This Gothic Revival landmark has been a central Pennsylvania treasure since 1877. Originally located in Middletown, the historic Star Barn and its outbuildings were carefully dismantled...
